Chased by Ian D to write a piece for the next issue of Consortium, our newsletter. I managed to get a few words together and have e-mailed Ian with these.
Just about recovered from my cold, which has been hanging about since our concert. Managed to croak my way through Carol Service and Midnight Mass at church. Just off to friends for a few days over the New Year and then back to the grindstone. See you all on the 9th

Gathering material for the choir's website
Sitting at my computer cutting, pasting and editing material from several past programmes Ian D has kindly provided, to get together a list of works we've performed since 2007, so that Ian S can update our website, Past Programmes page. Hopefully we'll soon have a presence on Facebook too.
I just got a CD of our last concert from John Fry. Very interesting it is too! Perhaps we can get some copies made for other members who would like one. One thing is certain - I am determined that we should have a go at getting a professional recording of the choir made. Will we sell any? Who knows.
I'm missing the buzz of Monday nights already. Still not too long to wait and plenty of singing to do in the meantime.

Monday 5th December 2011
We don't normally rehearse on the Monday after a concert but as the concert was early in December Paul thought we could take a brief look at next term's music. A short rehearsal and then an hour or so relaxing together, some drimks, nibbles (very good!) and a chance to chat about the concert, repertoire, and many other things both about the choir and in general. We don't get much chance to chat normally at rehearsals as there's so much to do, so this was very welcome. We wished good speed to Beth, who is off to Oz for a year and I hope she'll follow our goings on through this blog and come back to us as she will be missed.
My first post!
Saturday 3rd December - up early, to St Paul's Woldingham to open the church up and finish putting up staging for our concert "Christmas is coming.... an advent miscellany". Concert at 7.30pm, back to the church at 6.30pm to open up for members, their guests and all the other audience. Fantastic concert, best for many years and well appreciated, going by the many favourable comments. Finally cleared up by 10.15pm thanks to the help from all the members, especially Jean and Brian (who hoovered the carpets, bless him!). I think that Paul, our Director of Music was pleased. Audience was 100 (fantastic)
